(Nijmegen, The Netherlands, July 9, 2008)--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DapTechnology, a world-leading supplier of advanced IEEE 1394 protocol analyzers & interface solutions to the aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive and consumer electronics markets announced today that Fort Worth, TX-based Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company has selected the new DapTechnology FireTrac 1394b Test & Simulation Platform for a rearchitectured real-time data recording & simulation solution. The FireTrac IEEE 1394b Test & Simulation Platform is used as the key component for the Mission Systems new 1394RMS platform, i.e. a real-time 1394 Receive Message System in the F-35 Lightning II (Joint Strike Fighter) program. With its all-new architecture and ground up support for the AS5643 protocol, the FireTrac’s innovative hardware, firmware and software platform forms a winning technical solution for building a sophisticated system like the 1394RMS.

“FireTrac provides a dedicated, high-performance & cost-effective solution for 1394b data logging & simulation solutions”, says Jan de Vries, CEO of DapTechnology. Mr. De Vries adds, ”We are proud to have provided yet another groundbreaking solution to the aerospace market. FireTrac will become another noteworthy technical solution and will complement the also successful FireSpy 1394 protocol analyzer product line. Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Mission Systems team has chosen the new FireTrac platform for its rich feature set and the high quality of this new product.  A trouble-free integration is currently in progress thanks to a well-engineered and clearly-documented technical solution as well as an excellent working relationship between DapTechnology’s and Lockheed Martin’s engineering staff.

“DapTechnology’s products are a remarkable example how a relatively small corporation from a European partner country can contribute to the success of a major aerospace program such as JSF. Working together with the Lockheed Martin team to build a compelling solution exemplifies the meaning of international partnerships and cooperation,” says Michael Vonbank Ph,D., Business Development Executive at DapUSA, Inc.

The FireTrac 1394b Test & Simulation Platform is currently shipping.  Packaged in a PMC form factor, the 3-channel cards can be easily mounted on several carrier card form factors, while supporting several popular operating systems like Windows, VxWorks and Linux.  Additional information on the FireTrac product and DapTechnology may be obtained by visiting www.daptechnology.com or by sending an e-mail to info(at)daptechnology.com.
