DapTechnology adds AMI-C Protocol Support to FireSpy Analyzer Software (22.10.2007)

(Nijmegen, The Netherlands, October 22, 2007)--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DapTechnology, a world-leading supplier of advanced IEEE 1394 technology solutions to the aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive and consumer electronics markets announced today the availability of AMI-C protocol analyzer software support for their FireSpy Analyzer product line. The AMI-C protocol analyzer software, which is accessible via the Protocol View of the FireSpy’s Recorder Software Module, scans through all transactions and packets for AMI-C-compliant Units and displays the resulting attributes, for example, relations, fields and their layouts, transactions and packets, in a user-friendly manner that promotes rapid analysis and effective decision support.

Sigma Space picks DapTechnology’s FireLink 1394b IP Core for NASA R&D Project (17.09.2007)

(Nijmegen, The Netherlands, September 17, 2007)--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DapTechnology, a world-leading supplier of advanced IEEE 1394 technology solutions to the aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive and consumer electronics markets announced today that Sigma Space Corporation of Lanham, Maryland has selected the DapTechnology FireLink 1394b Link Layer Controller IP Core and is currently integrating the product as a key component of a NASA-funded R&D project. FireLink, implemented in industry-standard VHDL code, is available for Xilinx and Altera FPGA devices. The product is targeted at applications requiring up to 800 Mbits/Sec of bandwidth and embedded designs requiring a general purpose IEEE 1394b Link Layer Controller.

FireLink provides facilities for transmitting and receiving IEEE 1394 packets, including asynchronous, isochronous, and PHY packets at speeds of up to 800Mb/s. Future FireLink enhancements will enable support for 1.6 and 3.2 Gbits/Sec speeds. DapTechnology markets both a Basic and Extended version of FireLink. The FireLink Basic version is optimized for small core sizes, while the FireLink Extended version, which leverages on OHCI-compatible DMA transfer technology, is optimized for high throughput applications.

FireLink, implemented in industry-standard VHDL code, is available initially for Xilinx FPGA devices and soon for Altera. The product is targeted at applications requiring up to 800 Mbits/Sec of bandwidth and embedded designs requiring a high performance general purpose IEEE 1394b Link Layer Controller.

Sales of DapTechnology’s FireSpy Analyzer Rocket Past 1000 Units (05.09.2007)

NIJMEGEN, The Netherlands, September 5th, 2007--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DapTechnology, a world-leading supplier of advanced IEEE1394 technology solutions to the aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive and consumer electronics markets announced today that sales of its flagship FireSpy line of analyzers have rocketed past the 1000 unit mark since the company introduced the first FireSpy 400 analyzer. Initially released in 2000 and 2003 respectively, the FireSpy400 and FireSpy800, “Basic Series”, have defined new standards for IEEE1394 data analysis.

Inspired partially by requirements from the aerospace & defense sector, DapTechnology introduced the “Advanced Series” of FireSpy analyzers a few years ago. The Mil1394b OHCI PMC host adapter, which addresses a growing need for multi-channel transformer coupled bus interfaces, is used primarily in mission critical aerospace and defense applications requiring longer media distances respecting the SAE AS5643-1 standard.

The Mil1394b OHCI PMC host adapter, which supports 33-MHz and 66-MHz PCI operation, is universally keyed for 3.3 volts & 5 volts operation, fully OHCI compliant and features 3 independent IEEE1394b channels and 9 transformer coupled ports.
