DapTechnology now also provides an API to control the FireSpyŽ without the regular application. This API is implemented as a DLL with the required header files and library files to allow easy integration with Visual Studio projects or any other environment you desire.
Since a significant number of customers use LabView to perform test and measurement tasks, we decided to create a library of LabView modules that wrap around the DLL and provide a user-friendly way to use the API.
The API library makes it possible for multiple applications to use the same FireSpyŽ concurrently. It is also possible to control several FireSpys from within a single application. The only rule is that a functional module per FireSpyŽ can only be used once. At the moment the API provides following functional modules:
| The LabView FireSpy API library integrates very well in your LabView environment. It contains a pre-defined menu file that can be added to the Tools palette of LabView. The way the FireSpy menu is organized is based on how LabView instrumentation drivers are generally divided. You will also recognize that the functionality is grouped according to the functional modules described on the previous slide. |
